FAQ: How to apply patches?

Q: What is a patch?
A: Patch is a changing for a firmware. It can fix some bugs and/or add some functions to your cellphone.

Q: Which types of the patches exist?
A: There are system patches and graphical patches. System patches add or improve some functions of the phone. Graphic patches change graphics of the phone (such as accumulator/network indicators on the Main Screen etc.)

Q: How to apply patches?
A: You need to download v_klay. You must also have a loader (aka key) for your phone.
If your cellphone belongs to x65-x75 series, you need to generate the loader for V-klay using PapuaUtils:

Patches could be applied only with following cables: DCA-510, DCA-512 and DCA-500.

REMEMBER! Make the FullFlash backup before any operations with your cellphone!

Q: How to make thebackup?
A: Start the V-Klay, choose "Flasher" & press the "read memory" button. The progress-bar will appear. Turn off your cellphone and press the red button shortly. After this operation done press "Save File" to save your backup. Never delete it!

Now you're ready to start patching.
Choose "General Patch" in the V-Klay. Press the "open..." button and choose the patch you want to apply (***.vkp). Don't change anything in the patch code. Press "Apply patch". Stop operation if you see an error like "Error at address xxxxx... The old data of blocks of patch is not found in flash...", it means that you have a patch for another SW or just a broken one.

If it's ok and you see "Patch has been applied successfully" - enjoy!

Q: How to remove the patch?
A: If you wanna remove this patch from your cellphone:
- open it (*.vkp file) and press "UNDO PATCH" instead of "APPLY PATCH".

If you wanna remove the "Increase flex memory" patch you must write your clear (patch-less) backup, which you'd made before.
How to do that?
Open your backup. Press the "Write memory" button and wait until it's done
